Mohan’s journey to becoming a cloud optimization expert began long before cloud computing became mainstream. Armed with a Master of Computer Applications from BIMS University and a Bachelor of Commerce, Mohan built his foundation as a Database Architect with specialized expertise in RDBMS systems. His 15-year specialization in SQL Server technologies has positioned him at the intersection of traditional database management and modern cloud transformation.

Noble Approach to Operational Excellence
Mohan’s most notable contribution to operational efficiency was the development of OMIS Pro, an innovative tool that revolutionized data tracking and workflow management. The system addressed critical challenges faced by business operations teams, particularly in eliminating non-value-added activities and resolving technical limitations of manual tracking systems.
“Before OMIS Pro, teams were struggling with duplicate data entry across multiple tracking sheets, with no data security and highly time-consuming reporting processes,” explains Mohan. “We created a centralized system that automated date and time stamps, provided customized reporting templates, and secured data with proper backup protocols.”
Database Optimization Mastermind
Mohan’s expertise extends beyond operational tools to fundamental database optimization. His approach to solving complex database issues demonstrates his exceptional technical acumen. When faced with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) bulk delete jobs frequently getting stuck after processing a certain number of records, Mohan completely re-engineered the end-to-end asynchronous archival process.
“The most challenging database problems require thinking beyond conventional solutions,” Mohan states. “By triggering the archival process in parallel chunks across multiple clients, we improved workflow execution performance by 80 percent and eliminated timeout issues that were previously commonplace.”
His innovative mindset similarly transformed index maintenance processes. Recognizing limitations in standard CRM maintenance jobs that would time out during defragmentation of large indexes, Mohan built a custom index maintenance tool. These tools provided flexibility to perform defragmentation during optimal time windows, automatically pause and resume operations across multiple days as necessary.
Cloud Migration and Modern Infrastructure
As Lead Cloud Engineer, Mohan focuses on modernizing cloud infrastructure across educational institutions. His expertise spans AWS RDS, On-Premises infrastructure, and Azure SQL Database platforms, where he implements sophisticated solutions for complex cloud environments.
One of his notable achievements was implementing a semi-automated utility for database rebalancing during upgrades, ensuring transaction volumes are equally distributed across instances. This innovation alone resulted in approximately $80,000-$90,000 annual savings by eliminating the need for additional pods.
His automated nightly backup script, which initiates backup processes, transfers files to the appropriate S3 buckets, and posts status updates to monitoring metrics, exemplifies his proactive approach to cloud management. By transferring backups to S3-IA and implementing selective backup strategies, Mohan achieved additional annual savings of approximately $30000 while ensuring system reliability.
Leading Through Mentorship and Collaboration
Beyond his technical contributions, Mohan’s leadership extends to mentoring team members and fostering cross-team collaboration. He also determines methods and procedures for new assignments and reviews completed work to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
“In cloud engineering, sharing knowledge is as important as creating solutions,” says Mohan, who regularly directs team members for technical efforts and influences collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
His expertise has earned him recognition as a judge for prestigious technology awards, including BI-Intelligence on Customer Excellence, BI-Intelligence on Artificial Intelligence, and the Globee Awards for both Artificial Intelligence and Technology Excellence.
