The first robot citizen of the world is in Georgia. She will make a speech on the Open Government Summit, which is attended by representatives of more than 70 countries.
Today Sophia answered the questions of the Georgian media. Before the start of the press conference, the robot greeted the public in Georgian.
“Hello, I am happy to be in Georgia, Georgia is a wonderful country and I am looking forward to meet as many people in your country as possible.
I know that Georgia is famous for its hospitality and cuisine, I haven’t had an opportunity to taste Georgian dishes yet”.
Sophia was also asked a question about the mine accident in Tkibuli that happened several days ago. Namely, answering the question of journalists whether artificial intellect could protect people from such cases, Sophia stated:
“This is a very good question and I think we are fit exactly for that. Artificial intellect can change people’s lives for the better. Our body can be repaired, if it is damaged and that is the way we can help each other.
I believe that in future robots, in cooperation with people, will make new discoveries,” – said Sophia.
Sophia is only two years old, she was created by Hanson Robotics Company in 2016. The humanoid robot has 62 types of mechanisms – humanlike appearances, behavior, and emotions. The robots has cameras installed in it, which cameras help her to communicate with people. The voice system helps Sophia to speak.
