Today, the Ministry of Finance published the draft 2018 state budget, according to which total expenditures (payables) of the budget will increase by 949 mln GEL compared to 2017.
The biggest growth is expected for the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure – by 572 mln GEL. The amounts meant for improvement of road infrastructure will increase mainly. Next one to come is the Ministry of Health, financing of which increases by 111 mln GEL, mainly for financing of health projects. No growth is expected for pensions and social aid.
Significant increase is expected for the financing of budgets of the Ministries of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Internal Affairs and Culture and Monument protection.
Financing of the Public Broadcaster increases by 6 mln GEL and the State Security Service – by 5 mln GEL.
Financing of two ministries – Economy and Defense – will significantly decrease. Reduction of the budget of the Ministry of Economy by 116 mln GEL is mainly caused by completion of procurement of lands for Anaklia Sea Port.
