In September, the average price of the 3-star hotels in Georgia came to 135 GEL. Among the 3-star hotels, the highest average priced hotels are based in Tbilisi with 153 GEL and in Samtskhe-Javakheti with 151 GEL. According to the research by PMCG, among the 3-star hotels, the average lowest priced hotels are based in Guria with 74 GEL and in Kvemo Kartli with 85 GEL.
The average price of the 4-star hotels in September was 244 GEL. Among the 4-star hotels the Kakheti region stood out with the highest average prices, that is 336 GEL followed by Samtskhe-Javakheti with 269 GEL. In September, among the 4-star hotels the lowest prices were in Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti averaging 153 GEL and in Guria 180 GEL.
In Georgia, the hotel price index in September 2018 decreased by 5.9% compared to August. The biggest fall in the prices of standard two-person rooms was recorded in Guria (-22.5%) and Adjara (-21.5%). In Georgia among the ten regions and Tbilisi, the hotel prices in September 2018, compared to August 2018, increased only in Racha.
As for Tbilisi, in September the prices of hotels have not changed compared to August. In Georgia, the price index of the 3, 4 and 5-star hotels decreased by 6.4% compared to August. Among these hotels, the biggest fall in prices was in Guria (-38.7%) and Adjara (-20.4%). In September, there was no increase in the 3, 4 and 5-star hotel prices in any of the regions. As for Tbilisi, the prices decreased by 0.2%. During the period from October 2017 to September 2018, the 3-star hotels in Tbilisi reached the maximum prices in December 2017 averaging 165 GEL. The lowest 3-star hotel prices were recorded in February 2018 with an average of 124 GEL. During this period, similar to the 3-star hotels, in Tbilisi, the highest prices for 4-star hotels were recorded in December 2017 with 293 GEL, and the lowest in February 2018 with 214 GEL.
The results are based on the price observation results of the standard two-person rooms in the 3, 4, 5-star hotels and family hotels in ten regions and Tbilisi.
