Startup Arrival began hosting events in the Metaverse back in 2022 and was the first organization that invited audience from Georgia to the immersive world. Since then, dozens of events have been held in various virtual worlds. This time, Arrival hosted the tech community in Decentraland within another new project – Global Matchup.
The purpose of the event was to gather tech enthusiasts in the immersive world, to create and diversify the experience of Metaverse events, to build bridges between investors and entrepreneurs, to create opportunities for startups to enter new markets, and to promote the strengthening of the ecosystem.
The Global Matchup audience consisted of technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives of the startup community.
Global Matchup was moderated by AXEL director, Iro Tsagareishvili. The event was opened by the Chairman of the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency, Avtandil Kasradze, and the Consul General of Georgia in San Francisco, Levan Kulijanishvili.
Later, the stage was successively occupied by speakers: Mariam Sharangia (Project Manager at Meta), Israel Pons (President of VC and Angel Investment), and Marcel Dridge (Startup Ecosystem Advisor). They talked about topics such as achieving success in entrepreneurship, mentoring in the startup ecosystem, attracting investments, and the importance of the startup community.
The official part of the event ended with speeches from entrepreneurs. Giorgi Vadachkoria (Formahealthy). Iako Jikia (Helio-ai), Wiktor Grzyb (AgorApp), and Ethan Clime (3vo) presented their project to the investors.
Finally, a virtual party took place in the specially arranged space in Decentraland.
“Arrival is actively working on software that, with the help of artificial intelligence, will generate 3D virtual models and spaces in a few seconds. It is important to understand the needs of our target audience, to introduce virtual worlds to the public, to provide them with more information about technological innovations and opportunities, and of course, to continue strengthening the startup ecosystem both in Georgia and abroad. That is why Arrival continues to organize events in immersive worlds and will soon introduce new projects to the public in these and other directions,” said Arrival.
