Ms. Murray has been at the forefront of finance for Fox 29 since 2018, applying her comprehensive knowledge of financial principles and strategies to drive operational success. She leads a dedicated team responsible for managing financial accounting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing financial statements, budgets and audits. Ms. Murray also works closely with department heads across the organization, identifying needs and challenges, and guiding her team to resolve them proactively.
One of her proudest achievements was leading the team responsible for large-scale capital projects and handling contractual matters while maintaining alignment with the company’s broader business objectives.
Facing AI and the Evolution of Broadcast Media
Ms. Murray’s leadership is defined by her technical expertise and advanced approach to the dynamic broadcast media space. “The biggest challenge right now in the industry is how to responsibly use artificial intelligence,” she says. “We are trying to figure out how we get our content in front of a generation that no longer consumes news through traditional channels. The answer lies in the innovative use of new technologies while ensuring the accuracy of the information we deliver.”
In addition to her work at Fox 29, Ms. Murray’s previous roles at NBC Universal and Comcast have equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of financial operations in both sports media and telecommunications. As senior director of finance at NBC Sports Group from 2017 to 2018, she was instrumental in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
As director of internal audit at Comcast from 2005 to 2014, Ms. Murray was also key in launching the West Coast operations for Comcast’s internal audit function. “My time at Comcast taught me how to build new relationships and integrate with teams in different markets,” she reflects. “At Comcast, I was able to mend gaps between diverse teams, creating a culture of collaboration and understanding.”
Decades of Leadership and Community Impact
Ms. Murray’s career spans over two decades, with her educational background laying a strong foundation for her professional growth. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting and a Master of Accounting from Villanova University, earning her degrees in 2001 and 2002, respectively.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Murray is an active volunteer. She supports the American National Red Cross and participates in local blood donation drives, demonstrating her commitment to making a difference beyond her career. “Family and community have always been a central part of my life,” she says. “The support I’ve received has been invaluable, and I strive to give back in meaningful ways.”
