Since the beginning of the year, 18 new hotels have been opened in Georgia. According to the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the country has 1624 new beds and 812 new hotel rooms.
7 of 18 are brand chain hotels. The biggest of the 7 is Stamba Hotel, which has 205 rooms and 400 beds. It is followed by Ramada Encore Tbilisi with 152 rooms and total of 250 beds. Moxy Hotel is represented by 130 rooms, which was also opened in Tbilisi with 260 beds. Another brand chain hotel opened in Tbilisi is Timber Boutique Hotel, which has 18 rooms. As to the regions, in Kazbegi, Hotel Porta Caucasia Kazbegi was opened with 33 rooms, in Kakheti – Akhasheni Wine Resort with 41 rooms, also, Ambassadori Kachreti was expanded (120 rooms). Since the beginning of the year, most hotel rooms (505) were added in Tbilisi, followed by Kakheti with 155 rooms and Samtskhe-Javakheti with 54 rooms.
As to hotels under construction by regions, most hotel constructions are also planned for Tbilisi.
In Georgia, there are total 2196 accommodation facilities, of which 827 are hotels, 811 – family hotels, 398 – guest houses and 160 are other type accommodation facilities.
In 2018-2019, opening of 219 hotels is planned in Georgia, as a result of which, 12 748 new hotel rooms will be added.
The biggest number of rooms will be in Batumi TWIN Tower (350 rooms), opening of which is planned for 2018. Also, this year, opening of a 200-room Radisson Park Inn and 165-room Hilton Garden Inn is planned in Tbilisi.
